Investigations began after suspicions arose in December 2024 regarding the reuse of single-entry tickets for tourist groups. Authorities uncovered a network that allegedly admitted up to 20 groups per day over ten years, with bribes paid to museum staff. Nearly €1 million in cash and €500,000 in bank accounts were seized, and similar fraud was reported at the Palace of Versailles.
