The preliminary investigation by the Indian Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau found that both engines shut down within seconds of take-off, after the fuel switches were moved to the cut-off position almost simultaneously.

The London-bound aircraft crashed shortly after take-off, resulting in the deaths of all but one of the 242 people on board and 19 others on the ground. Indian authorities have not yet responded to the findings reported by the media.
