Maurene Comey, a federal prosecutor and daughter of former FBI Director James Comey, has been fired from her position in New York, according to CBS News. Comey was part of the prosecution teams for both the Jeffrey Epstein and Sean Diddy Combs cases. 

The Department of Justice has not commented on the reason for her dismissal. The firing occurs as public and political pressure mounts for the release of files related to the Epstein investigation, though the Attorney General and FBI maintain that no such file exists and have reiterated that Epstein's death was ruled a suicide.
