The model uses biopolymers and 3D-printed moulds to mimic the structure and function of the human intestine. If successful, this approach could provide pharmaceutical companies and laboratories with a more accessible, ethical, and accurate way to test new medicines, potentially leading to more reliable treatments for patients.
