More than a thousand structures have been destroyed and lives lost as wildfires sweep across parts of Los Angeles.

The destruction in the residential areas is extensive, with numerous homes and businesses completely destroyed. A once-thriving community that included a beloved strip mall, frequented by elementary students, is now unrecognizable.

Among the losses in the neighborhood are a family-favorite convenience store, an Italian restaurant, and a pharmacy, all left in ruins. Evans reflects on the deep impact on the community, particularly the small businesses that were crucial to its character. With uncertainty surrounding the future of these businesses, many residents are faced with not only the loss of their homes but also of the beloved local establishments that contributed to the neighborhood's unique identity.
