The Beauval zoo in central France welcomed the birth of a baby elephant on Sunday, after its mother N'Dala endured a seven-hour delivery. The baby female was born at 4:00 am (0300 GMT), weighing 150 kilos and was described by zoo director Rodolphe Delord as "very very big".
