Noah Lyles finished third in the 200m event and subsequently had to withdraw from the games due to complications from COVID-19 and asthma. This also disqualified him from participating in the men's 4x100m relay final. The Australian men's team set a national record in the heats but did not qualify for the final. The women's relay team also narrowly missed securing a spot in the final.

Oceana McKenzie advanced to the boulder and lead final in sport climbing. Madison Keeney made it to the 3m springboard final, while Curtis Matthews placed 10th in the men's final. The Netherlands and Germany hockey match ended in controversy due to unsportsmanlike conduct following a penalty shootout.
