The Weather Channel's April temperature outlook indicates that the Southwest, Gulf Coast, and Southeast are expected to experience above-average temperatures, continuing the trend of persistent heat in these areas. Much of the rest of the country, including the Northwest, Plains, and Mid-Atlantic, is also forecasted to see warmer than usual conditions.

However, some regions, particularly from the northern Plains to the Great Lakes and the Northeast, may still encounter cooler than average temperatures, suggesting that hints of winter could linger. Residents in these cooler areas are advised to keep jackets handy as cold spells remain possible.
