The AAP's position is supported by twelve other medical societies, including the American Medical Association and the Infectious Diseases Society of America. The AAP and its supporters express concern that the federal vaccine recommendation process has become politicized under the current administration, and advise parents to consult their pediatricians regarding which vaccine schedule to follow.
