Airport security lines across the United States are returning to normal after significant delays caused by a partial Department of Homeland Security shutdown. TSA officers, who had been working without pay, are now receiving back pay following an emergency order signed by President Trump, resulting in shorter wait times at major airports including George Bush International in Houston and MSP.

Despite the improvement in airport operations, a long-term agreement to fund the Department of Homeland Security has not yet been reached. Lawmakers remain on recess but indicate there is a path forward, while President Trump has endorsed a Senate bill to fund DHS and called for its passage by June 1st.
