This initiative includes 1.8 million shells expected to be supplied through a program led by the Czech Republic. Zelensky's remarks were made during a meeting with Czech President and former NATO General Petr Pavel. 

In addition to the artillery shells, Zelensky reported on ongoing discussions about establishing a training school for F-16 fighter jet pilots. This initiative would be a collaborative effort involving Ukraine and the Czech Republic, focusing on training outside Ukrainian territory.

Zelensky's visit to the Czech Republic comes after remarks by Russian President Vladimir Putin indicating that no current need exists for the use of nuclear weapons in Ukraine. While in the country, Zelensky is also scheduled to meet with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala.

During a meeting with Czech President and former NATO General Petr Pavel on Sunday, he also said discussions were underway for a Ukrainian-Czech pilot training school for F-16 fighter jets. Zelensky's visit follows comments made by Russian President Vladimir Putin that the need to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine had not arisen, and that he hopes it won't. Later on today, the Ukrainian President is due to meet with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala.
