A woman sustained critical injuries after being struck and run over by a car in Narellan Vale, New South Wales. Paramedics responded to the scene, and the victim was airlifted to Liverpool Hospital with serious injuries, including head trauma, internal organ damage, and a broken pelvis. 

Police allege the woman's partner, a 36-year-old man, reversed a Mazda sedan over her before fleeing the scene. He was arrested two hours later. The incident, which occurred in the presence of three children, coincided with the state government's announcement of a new strategy to address domestic violence.

Paramedics swore Madison Court Norell and Vail to save a woman in a critical condition who had just been crushed by a car. Rattled neighbours say they witnessed her roll underneath the wheel after she was struck at 8.30 this morning. Opened the door, oh my god, I saw poor car and hit her come on here. It's alleged that a 36-year-old man got into a Mazda sedan and reversed that sedan, striking the woman and running over her, at which time he then left the scene. Officers then began the frantic search for the victim's partner, who is known to police. He had dumped the vehicle and was arrested two hours later inside a phone box at nearby Camden Valley Way. The woman suffered injuries to her head, internal organs and a broken pelvis. She was airlifted to Liverpool Hospital. It pisses you off really, it really makes you angry to think that someone could do that to someone else. Police called the scene horrendous and have thanked neighbours for their swift action. They are stunned by obviously the level of violence that's been displayed and we're very grateful that obviously through a quick resolution that we have the man in custody now. Police allege the man smashed a television and struck the woman across the head with a glass vase before she tried to flee the property and called triple zero. Three children were also home at the time. The distressing incident comes the same day the state government announced its strategy to change the behaviour of domestic violence perpetrators. It shouldn't be like this, especially this time of the year, you know, it's the season of giving and sharing and all that. Sarah Navin, 10 News.
