Emergency response efforts are ongoing, with both the National Guard and Red Cross mobilized to assist residents and support recovery. Authorities are urging the public to avoid closed areas for safety reasons, as damage assessments and cleanup continue. Heavy rainfall, estimated at 10 to 14 inches in less than 12 hours, contributed to the severe flooding and its aftermath.

All right, well, tonight, Wisconsin remains under a state of emergency. This is amid that historic flooding. Let's give you a live look right now at the Fox River. This is in Waukesha, currently nearing record levels still. So the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or NOAA, predicts it could rise to 8.8 feet by the end of the day, and that would break the previous record of 8.85, which was set back in 2008. And then in other parts of the state, the floodwaters there have receded, so now we're just looking at some really significant damage. This Milwaukee home, just look at that. So much damage after the flooding caused the foundation to collapse into the basement. The family says that they got out of there just moments beforehand, but then they realized they had nowhere to go. We all started walking to the gas station. There was a few people that was there at the gas station. We were all just taking cover because it's higher level, and family couldn't come rescue us because water was everywhere and they couldn't get through. They're like, you know, we can't get through, we can't get through. So we go, we can't sit out here because we're going to freeze because we're all soaking wet. And then state parks also affected by this damage by flooding. This is a look at Newport State Park. That's in Door County. Hit especially hard. The Wisconsin DNR saying about 500 acres suffered those downed trees, trail and campsite washouts as well. DNR staff out there, they are still taking a look at that damage. They are asking the public, though, to please avoid those closed areas. No looky-loos in there for your safety. And both the National Guard and the Red Cross have been activated now to help out with that, the ongoing recovery efforts out there. Chief Meteorologist Ian Leonard joining us now. Ian, it was incredible to watch kind of over the weekend, everything just culminate. And then so many people just trapped, they couldn't go anywhere, couldn't do anything. Well, you know, you think about Milwaukee, and I don't have to tell anybody, but it's bounded on one side by water. There's only so many ways you can go. The heaviest rains were just northwest and just southwest of downtown Milwaukee. And when I say heaviest rains, we're talking 10 to 14 inches in less than 12 hours. You know, this is the kind of thing that if we had it here, you know, we would be talking about the massive flooding and the water taking some time to recede. When you think about all the way north to Door County, and you've been there, it's spectacular. With all of those trees down, you know, it's been an active weather year so far.
