The press secretary is giving a briefing here at the White House, and she was just asked about some comments by E.J. Antony, who is the president's pick to run the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which puts out the monthly jobs reports. She was asked about a comment of his that maybe discontinuing those jobs reports in the short term is in the best interest of the country. She said that it is the plan and hope of the White House that those jobs reports will continue, but no guarantee here from the White House that jobs reports from the BLS will continue in the future. She said the main priority for the White House is improving what they see as a flawed process and removing flawed data from the calculation. She was also asked about the NVIDIA 15 percent deal. Remember, the president entered into an agreement with NVIDIA and AMD for 15 percent of sales of their advanced chips, not their most advanced chips, but advanced chips, into China in exchange for export permissions by the U.S. government. She was asked if that's an option that's going to be playing out in other industries with other companies. She said, for now, there are no plans, but that is a program that they see as innovative and something that they think they might expand in the future. No guarantees on that at this point. And then she was also asked about this issue of the president threatening a lawsuit against Jay Powell over at the Fed earlier today on social media. She said the president is threatening a lawsuit. No discussion here, though, of what he would sue Powell for or what the legal basis for that lawsuit will be. She says she'll leave that up to the president himself.
