Authorities from NSW Environment confirmed the calf was unharmed, and the Maritime and National Parks and Wildlife Service have been monitoring the whales since the collision. The incident has led to renewed warnings for boaters to be cautious during the whale migration season to prevent similar accidents.

The driver speeds directly over top of the calf, with the propeller hitting it near its blowhole. The boat then becomes airborne, with the three people on boat landing on top of each other. It was horrific to watch. The calf was lucky to move its head a split second before impact. It could have been a lot worse, yeah, for the calf and for the three people on the boat. Thankfully, NSW Environment says the calf came away unscathed. Fortunately, from what I've been seeing today, the calf looks really good. The video, posted by Michael Hatt, has been viewed over 300,000 times. At this stage, it's unclear if the incident was deliberate. It's kind of like a gasp of awfulness, and I'm really hoping that maybe these people just didn't see them. Maritime and NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service have been following the pair since the collision. We're essentially escorting these two out to make sure that they're safe and that no one hurts them. For the next three months, whales will be moving down the coast as part of the southern migration, with experts warning boaties to keep an eye out.
