Firefighters are actively working to control a wildfire on Mount Vesuvius in Italy, which has been burning since Friday. Satellite imagery has captured a visible plume of smoke rising from the volcano, highlighting the scale of the incident.

Multiple aircraft, including six planes and four helicopters, along with 15 teams of civil protection volunteers, have been deployed to combat the fire. The Vesuvius National Park Authority has closed the volcano's trail network to ensure public safety and to assist firefighting and cleanup efforts in the affected areas.
