The University of Nevada, Las Vegas is set to mark two years since a campus shooting that impacted students, staff, and the wider community. A remembrance event will be held at the Donald C. Moyer Amphitheater, featuring remarks from university leaders, musical performances, and the unveiling of plans for a permanent memorial garden.

The event aims to honor those lost, support those still affected, and foster community healing. Mental health counselors will be available to assist attendees, and the ceremony is open to all who feel connected to the tragedy.

And tomorrow marks two years since the shooting that forever changed the UNLV campus, a day that left students, staff and families grieving and a community determined to heal to honor the lives lost. The university is holding a special remembrance event tomorrow morning, a gathering focused on memory, resilience and support. Haley Gravitas here in the studio with a look at how you know V is preparing for this very emotional remembrance. Haley, this remembrance is all about community just and and university leaders say that this gathering isn't just about making time, it's about honoring the people lost and the people still carrying the weight of that day. Two years later, tomorrow's remembrance will run from 10 to 10 45 a.m. At the Donald C. Moyer Amphitheater, a quiet space on campus that will turn into a place of healing and togetherness. The program will feature remarks from interim president chris Heavey, faculty and students, many of whom say this day still feels heavy. Even two years later, musical performances from the College of Fine Arts will set reflective tones for the morning. Organizers will also unveil renderings of the future. You and I'll be healing garden and December six Memorial, a permanent place on campus designed for quiet moments, remembrance and peace. One student I caught up with shared what it felt like to go back to the campus after that fateful day. It was a lot more quiet than before. It's usually quiet, you know, in general, but it was a lot more quiet. Um, you know, students, students was just like in shock, you know, they were just, they didn't think it would happen, especially in Vegas, you know, be a lot of things happening here and to make sure no one has to face the feelings by themselves. Mental health counselors from UNLV will be on hand throughout the event, ready to support anyone who needs it. University leaders say tomorrow is about honoring those who were lost, but also about lifting up the community that's still finding its way forward.
