Despite GHF's claim of distributing hundreds of thousands of food boxes, the UN and the head of its Agency for Palestinian Refugees have labelled the system a 'death trap' and urged Israel to stop targeting people trying to access food.

The United Nations and major aid groups have refused to cooperate with the organisation over concerns it was designed to cater to Israeli military objectives. In Beit Lahiya on Monday, hungry Palestinians climbed directly onto humanitarian aid trucks in an effort to take any food they could, even as the injured were carried away from the area. If you want to feed us, feed us. If you don't, kill us. If you don't want us to have a decent life, kill us. On Tuesday, the UN's Human Rights Office condemned what it called the weaponisation of food in Gaza, adding it was a war crime. The sentiment was echoed by the head of the UN's Agency for Palestinian Refugees, who labelled the new aid model a death trap costing more lives than it saves. GHF, meanwhile, insisted its system was working, saying it had distributed roughly 680,000 food boxes so far.
