The United Auto Workers union is increasing pressure on Detroit's Big Three by expanding its workers strike to even more facilities. UAW President Shawn Fain announced Friday that the union is encouraging 38 parts and distribution centers for General Motors and Stellantis to join the strike.

We do have some breaking news at this hour regarding the United Auto Workers strike. Just minutes ago, the president of the union announced a major expansion of the work stoppage nationwide. At noon eastern time, all of the parts distribution facilities at General Motors and Stellantis are being called to stand up and strike. We will be striking 38 locations across 20 states across all nine regions of the UAW. That's the union president there, Sean Fain. He said they are striking GM and Stellantis, not Ford, locations because the manufacturers need some serious pushing. They are not adding more Ford locations right now because Fain said actually that Ford has gone a bit further than the other two automakers in getting closer to the union's demand. So a major expansion from three plants adding 38 more but apparently things with Ford are going a little bit better than the other two but still this ratchets it up things big time here entering what day nine tomorrow? Yeah day nine tomorrow but we're talking states across 20 states nine regions all nine regions of the union so Nevada, California, Illinois, Texas, even here in Georgia as well North Carolina, Tennessee, I mean all across the country here so this this is the ripple effect that this targeted approach is really what they were looking for is that kind of slow painful trickle that that they really wanted with this stand up approach. And it looks like from three plants to 41 today's the day thing has got a little more real. Yeah yeah yeah well we're going to continue to follow that.
