One of my sister-in-laws, she took control of the scene and told everyone to move away and put pressure on his wound and she really saved the day. Holding a towel to a stab wound in his chest until paramedics arrived. People are here to eat and have a good time and to see that in front of the store is really disappointing. The 18 and 20 year old victims were taken to hospital in critical conditions. The teenager is in Melbourne on holiday from New South Wales. The pair had just stopped in for smoothies before the attack. He was the only kid out of all the boys that came in and out to say Happy New Year to my sister-in-law. As the seven offenders fled the scene, they jumped into at least two waiting cars. Police are investigating if this was a targeted attack and if these two men were the intended target. If you carry any edge weapon without any exemption whatsoever, you're going down three paths. You're either going to jail, you're going to hospital or you're going to the cemetery. It's as simple as that. The shocking attack highlighting Melbourne's knife crime epidemic is far from over. There have been record number of seizures. We've always got more work to do. They said they would take machetes off the streets. They have failed. Police are continuing to hunt for the offenders with one witness issuing them a sharp rebuke. Shame on you boys.
