A Twitch streamer rented the gym at Canyon Crest Academy in San Diego and filmed content that included men getting their legs waxed, a man licking a woman's foot, and women in revealing clothing. The stream, presented by Fansly, shocked students and led the school's principal to call the event inappropriate and in violation of district standards. 

The Canyon Crest Academy Foundation, which approved the rental to a production company, stated that no inappropriate content was disclosed and that a contract for PG-13 content was signed. The foundation is now consulting legal counsel and has apologized, while the streamer's attorney maintains that no adult content was streamed and all contractual obligations were met.

Men getting their legs waxed, a man licking a woman's foot, that was some of the content in a live stream filled in a Carmel Valley High School gym over the weekend. ABC 10 News reporter Yasmeen Ludi got answers about how the event was able to take place on school campus. Canyon Crest Academy students tell me they couldn't use their gym on Friday because a Twitch streamer had rented it out and was setting up inside. As for what was being recorded, students say they're shocked and disappointed it could happen on their campus. Canyon Crest Academy typically holds a good reputation. You know, there's been a few hiccups lately and this kind of just adds insult to injury. I feel like now students say that reputation is stained after a twitch streamer was allowed to rent the gym to film content over the weekend. Twitch is a website where people stream themselves gaming, playing sports, making music and many other things. ABC 10 News does not have permission to show the clips from the stream, but it shows people in the gym running around playing games, fighting men getting their legs waxed, a man licking a woman's foot and women in revealing clothes. According to the video's title, the stream was presented by fansly, a site similar to only fans where people charge for exclusive photos and videos. Students I spoke with didn't hold back on what happened. I think there were some creators brought in from that platform that I definitely have a problem with because I just think there's no place for that in a school area. At the end of the day, it's kind of the school's choice and money is money for the school. It doesn't sound like anything particularly extreme happened. Um, I find it kind of odd and maybe in poor taste in a letter sent to parents. Canyon Crest Academy's principal called the stream inappropriate and distasteful. He said the production was in violation of the standards set by the district and the Canyon Crest Academy Foundation. I think the school they definitely should have looked into more of what these people do. Canyon Crest Academy has its own nonprofit foundation. The foundation is the one who actually rented out the gym in a statement. Its executive director told me in october they approved the gym to be rented to a production company based in New Hampshire. She said at that time, no inappropriate or concerning content was disclosed and they signed a contract agreeing to make PG 13 content. The foundation says it's now consulting with its legal counsel to review what occurred and to determine appropriate next steps, saying they sincerely apologize for the incident. An attorney for the streamer and production company told abc 10 news there was no adult content streamed at the school and that they followed all of their contractual obligations. They say the school was put on notice about what was taking place in the gym and that no kids were present because it happened on a weekend. The attorney says the letter the school's principal sent to parents was inaccurate and again that they complied with all requirements. Yasmin Ludi abc 10 News. Santa Ana winds back in San Diego. Santa Ana winds in the forecast a bit calmer right now than what we were looking at earlier this afternoon, but still gusty for sure. I mean, some of us are registering winds in the thirties and the twenties in the mountains. We're gonna feel that breeze overnight tonight. Santa Ana winds picking up tomorrow afternoon as well, although nowhere near as breezy as where they peaked earlier today talking about that temperature change. Certainly even at this hour, well into the night, well warmer than where we were just 24 hours ago. Tomorrow is going to be the warmest day of the week for areas west of the mountains and then the mountains and deserts not too far behind. We'll track that warm up and how long the Santa Ana winds will be in our forecast coming up. The high winds will be whipping through East County. The winter winds are happening as Cal Fire San Diego's Ramona Air attack base is under construction. I spoke with the agency about how crews are prepared to respond to fire dangers happening now and for the future. Enjoy the calm breeze and 80 degree temps for now. We have winds anywhere between 30 to 20 miles an hour throughout the county. That's Cal Fire San Diego Captain Mike Cornet. He tells me the winds are going to pick up overnight on monday and last through Wednesday. It is dry. It is warmer than seasonal average. So we are experiencing heightened fire danger. But the rain we've got over the last month helps what fuels possible fires. We are starting to get grass, green grass, which is a benefit for us. But going into next fire season, that's going to provide for additional fine dead fuels that are receptive to embers and burn a lot quicker than brush as we wait for the wind. There's also the sights and sounds of progress at Cal Fire's Ramona Air attack base. We're doing a reconstruction, a total reconstruction of the retardant loading bays here at Ramona Air attack base in anticipation of the C. 1 30 that we're getting in the spring and to make it more efficient. We're putting instead of these turnaround bays, we're having more of a pit style retardant base. ABC 10 News has reported on the scheduled construction for the C. 1 30 air tanker. Despite the retrofitting for the really big airplane, yeah, Cornette says they're prepared for whatever fires may come right now as we welcome future firefighting resources. And the only thing that's changed is these air tankers instead of reloading with retardant here have to go to Hemet Ryan Airport to reload. So that's the only difference. There's a bit of lag time for that, but we have already set in place that we're going to going to augment the response with additional air tankers. Ryan Hill, ABC 10 News tonight. We're hearing from the attorney of the family that just reached a $30 million settlement with the city. We showed you the video earlier this year after 16 year old Kanoa Wilson was shot by a police officer at the Santa Fe Depot. ABC 10 News reporter Laura Acevedo explains why the attorney says the settlement is just the city council still has to formally approve this settlement at their meeting tomorrow. But if it's approved, this settlement would be even larger than what the city of Minneapolis paid George Floyd's family for his death in 2020. A major settlement for the family of 16 year old Kanoa Wilson killed by a San Diego police officer in late January near the Santa Fe Depot. I was there the night of the shooting. Now, at this time, details are very limited. According to the family's attorney, the teen was running away from gunshots fired in his direction from another minor body camera video released from San Diego police in February shows the moment that led up to the deadly police shooting. As Wilson ran and turned a corner, he was face to face with SDPD officer Daniel Gold, who within seconds shoots the teen. He identifies himself as San Diego police only after Wilson's been shot. The teen died at the hospital. The family sued the city and Officer Golden June. Now, six months later, this major settlement. How can anyone justify this killing? Police officer shouldn't have had his finger on the trigger. Nick Rowley is the attorney for the family. He thinks the shooting was reckless and believes the officers inexperience on the job played a role. Officer Gold had only been with SDPD for two years when Wilson was killed. That could have been you. It could have been me. It could have been a judge. It could have been anybody. It could have been a pregnant woman coming around that corner because he did not have enough time to perceive and react. The city attorney's office declined to comment. But in a staff report for Tuesday's city council meeting, the assistant city attorney writes that the settlement is a business decision and a compromise and dismissal of legal proceedings and that it's not an admission of liability by any party. The police department declined to comment on the settlement and said Officer Gold is still on administrative assignment. The city says the $30 million to be paid to the family will come from their public liability fund. Laura Acevedo, abc 10 News. Today, the trump administration announced a $12 billion aid package meant to help farmers impacted by tariffs. Most of the funds will be paid through a newly created assistance program with the Department of Agriculture. But as abc is christian cordero reports, it's unclear where the money is coming from. With the impacts of the China trade war still simmering today, President trump announcing a new aid package expected to provide a vital lifeline to crop farmers most impacted by his tariffs. This relief will provide much needed certainty to farmers as they get this year's harvest to market and look ahead to next year's crops and it will help them continue their efforts to lower food prices. The White House says $11 billion of the $12 billion aid package will go to the newly created farmer bridge assistance program under the Department of Agriculture. The White House says row crop farmers will be eligible to receive one time bridge payments. The remaining $1 billion would include crops not covered by that program. According to the White House, among the hardest hit american soybean farmers like scott thompson in Nebraska. In the seven years leading up to the 2018 trade war during the first trump administration, roughly 60% of all U. S. Soybean exports went to china. ABC's matt rivers spoke with thompson in september months after china quit buying. Right now we're below the cost of production. So you're losing money. We're losing money. China has since agreed to purchase american soybeans again as part of a framework deal with the U. S. The White House says the one time payment to farmers is designed as a financial bridge vowing to deliver certainty to farmers when asked where the money is coming from.
