All right, we're going to bring in a White House reporter for The Washington Times right now, Jeff Mornak. Jeff, great to be with you again. You know, another story that's making headlines, big headlines this morning. The House expected to vote tomorrow on the full release of the Jeffrey Epstein files and a lot of lawmakers calling for the release of the documents. I want to get your thoughts on that. Well, I think the most interesting thing about this is the sudden reversal we had from President Trump last night, who after months and heavy pressure on Republicans in the House not to back the measure to release the Epstein files, has now announced that they should be released and that he wants them released. And I think it's really interesting because it shows to some degree his grip on Congress is starting to loosen as we head to the 2026 midterms, the 2028 election. Yeah, and you know, since you mentioned President Trump, he ordered that the DOJ investigate Jeffrey Epstein's ties to multiple high profile Democrats, including former President Bill Clinton and Larry Summers. The president has held back from speaking about this, but here is what he told one reporter. I want to talk about it because fake news like you, you're a terrible reporter and fake news like you, they just keep bringing that up to deflect from the tremendous success of the Trump administration. All right, Jeff, your reaction to that and what do you make the president's handling of this? Do you think the Democrats really should tread carefully when it comes to this? Well, absolutely. The Democrats should tread carefully. There's a lot of names in there that are high profile Democrats that are in these Epstein files. Now, again, being in the file doesn't necessarily mean you did any wrongdoing, but there are a lot of arrows pointing to a lot of people in the Democratic Party, and they really do need to be careful that this does not become another Lucy pull the football for them where they make them, where they get involved and it comes up and it blows up in their face. Yeah, no doubt about that. And as you know, the Epstein files are pitting one longtime Trump ally against the president, Marjorie Taylor Greene. She made her rounds with the legacy media this weekend. Take a listen to this. Unfortunately, it has all come down to the Epstein files, and that is shocking. And, you know, I, I stand with these women. The most hurtful thing he said, which is absolutely untrue, is he called me a traitor. And that is, that is so extremely wrong. And those are the types of words used that can radicalize people against me and put my life in danger. Meanwhile, Jeff, the president said this. Listen. Her life is in danger. Who's that? Marjorie Trader Greene. I don't think her life is in danger. I don't think, frankly, I don't think anybody cares about her. Okay. Jeff, what do you think MTG strategy is here? What's what's happening? I think she's trying to position herself as more of a centrist. I think she wants to, she has ambitions that go beyond being a representative from North Carolina. You know, rumors, we've talked of presidential campaign. This isn't, this is the most glaring split she's had from the president. It's not the only split. She recently came out and criticized him for meeting with so many foreign leaders. She has attacked him on affordability. She has attacked him on a number of issues. She made nice when she went on The View last week. She's really trying to position herself a little bit away from Trump and more of a centrist to try to bring people who only think of her as a conservative firebrand onto her bandwagon. Yeah. And this is a real about face for her, Jeff. I want to pivot now to this, that BBC lawsuit that president Trump plans to launch against the BBC, admitting that they did wrongly edit a video of a speech that the president gave. I would say deceptively edited that, but they insist there's no legal basis for the president's claim. And the edits were from two separate speeches that the president made nearly an hour apart. What do you make of this and where do you see this going? Well, I think the president clearly, as you pointed out, it was deceptive. It was, it looks like it was deceptively edited and he has been very successful in taking on the legacy media through lawsuits, also through other ways, such as banning the Associated Press from the Oval Office and Air Force One. But you look at the law, you look at the lawsuits he has been filing against media outlets. He has been successful in all of them. Either he's won in court or they've backed down and came. Now BBC insists that they're not going to back down, but we'll see what happens as this court case, as he moves forward with litigation and has this case starts to develop in discovery, we'll see what BBC does that. Yeah, absolutely. And we've seen the president's history when it comes to these cases, he usually comes out on top. So we'll see what happens. Jeff, great to be with you.
