The mayor alleged that Bally's has an agreement to pay Trump an additional $115 million if a casino opens at the site, following MGM Resorts' withdrawal of its casino license application for Empire City Casino.

In response, the Trump Organization stated it had no involvement in MGM's decision and described the mayor's comments as false and speculative. The organization further suggested that Mayor Spano should focus on his own city. The mayor's office has been contacted for comment, but no response has been received yet.
