The Southeast United States is set to experience thunderstorms and severe weather, with moderate temperatures reported in cities such as Nashville and Tampa. Rainfall has already begun in some areas, serving as a precursor to more significant weather events, including the risk of damaging winds up to 75 mph, isolated hail, and possible tornadoes.

While flooding is not a major concern, the rainfall is considered beneficial due to ongoing drought conditions in the region. The weather system is expected to move off the coast overnight, but scattered thunderstorms will continue in Florida, and temperatures will drop in several cities. Residents are advised to remain weather aware and monitor for any alerts or warnings.

Overall, the temperatures not too bad. We're at 51 in Nashville, mid 60s for Tampa, though I know 60s. That is winter in Florida. You've definitely been colder in recent weeks that we had. That cold snap didn't last long, but probably makes these temperatures feel not too bad. Once again, it really is the rain, though. That is the big story. So zooming in radar and clouds over the last six hours here, you can see how that rainfall has really moved into Nashville, especially over the last couple of hours. Heavier rainfall further to the South though overall, and this is really just the precursor to tomorrow overall. Here's your footprint, your timeline. Generally speaking of who's going to have the rain, who's going to have the thunderstorms and a little sliver of ice that we're watching up into Virginia. That's even worse than snow in some situations as far as road conditions, for sure, but the bigger concern is the severe weather. Again, a low end threat level one out of four. However, you do definitely want to make sure you're staying weather aware. You have multiple ways to be alerted. Any watches, any warnings that are issued? Because yes, damaging wind gusts are the main concern. Up to 75 mph which can lead to trees down, lead to some damage, some power outages likely. However, we can't rule out a little bit of hail. Can't rule out an isolated tornado or two. And so reminder, severe weather can come any time of the year, so I want to time it out for you. A little bit better and give you an idea of what this looks like, especially because look at all of the scattered isolated thunderstorms you're going to see. We could still see some of these. Pack a punch with some severe weather. Some of those damaging winds. The rainfall really picks up, though 5530 overall now. Flooding is not a big concern here. This is mostly beneficial rainfall. However, just depends. Are you on the western portion of this? Are you in the eastern side? Will you have just some scattered storms? Or is it going to be a downpour with the gusty winds with some potential hail or an isolated tornado? Now as we go into the overnight hours Saturday into Sunday, this moves off the coast. However, we see the trailing front bringing more scattered thunderstorms throughout the day Sunday to Florida. I know that tends to be the case with our southeast pattern. I mentioned this is mostly beneficial rainfall in with drought monitor, not always the most exciting thing to talk about, but we really do need the rain because we can take a look. A lot of us in the moderate, even up to extreme drought. It's going to take much more than this rainfall to fix this situation, but so much of the region very dry. We've been watching Mississippi River water levels there low. That has negative consequences for barge traffic. Commerce very much a trickle down effect, and we definitely need the rainfall. Now what happens with our temperatures? Well, Nashville you're dropping down again. We get into the 40s New Orleans, about a 10 degree drop from Saturday to Sunday, but not everybody sees the impacts quite the same when it comes to the temperatures overall.
