Police have intercepted what they allege is a violent plot involving a loaded gun, arresting three individuals including one 17 year old. They are investigating links to criminal gangs.

Police in Sydney conducted a high-risk operation on a highway in Blacktown, intercepting a Kia Serrata believed to be involved in an imminent violent plot. Three individuals were apprehended, including a 17-year-old passenger and a 21-year-old driver, with the latter sustaining a police dog bite during the arrest. Simultaneously, officers arrested a 39-year-old man in Granville and seized a loaded revolver from a related home search, which police allege may have been intended for a public police shooting.

The 17-year-old is facing charges in children's court for participating in a criminal group and driving a stolen car without a licence, while the 21-year-old is accused of breaching bail and driving unlicensed. The 39-year-old has been charged with recklessly dealing with the proceeds of crime. Police are continuing their investigation, seeking to identify a potential target and probing possible links to organised crime networks.

The 21-year-old driver taken to hospital after he was bitten by a police dog. At the same time in Granville, police cut across Parramatta Road as they swooped in on an SUV and inside 39-year-old Ricky Halethoa. He's now in custody charged with recklessly dealing with the proceeds of crime and over this loaded gun seized from a home in Wilmot. Police claim the revolver may have been intended for the shooting. The 17-year-old is facing children's court accused of taking part in a criminal group and driving a stolen car, all allegedly without ever holding a licence. The 21-year-old man behind the wheel accused of breaching bail and driving without a licence. As police continue to investigate the alleged shooting plot, they're yet to identify a potential target and are also investigating links to criminal gangs. The police have committed significant investment into the identification, location and seizure of stolen vehicles with comb plates that are being staged by organised crime networks to commit shootings, murders and other serious crime incidents.
