The Cascade Bicycle Club's annual Seattle to Portland (STP) ride began early this morning from the University of Washington. Over 6,000 cyclists registered for the up to 207-mile journey, which supports the Cascade Bicycle Club's advocacy for bike lanes and bicycle safety education.

Thousands of cyclists participated in the Cascade Bicycle Club's annual Seattle to Portland (STP) ride, which began at the University of Washington. Organizers reported over 6,000 registered riders, marking the highest participation since before the pandemic. 

The STP ride covers up to 207 miles and supports the Cascade Bicycle Club's efforts to promote bike safety and expand bike lanes. The nonprofit also provides bicycle safety education to tens of thousands of youth across Washington state, aiming to make the region more bike-friendly.

Since before the pandemic in 2019, over 6,000 cyclists registered for the event. And we just want to show you the route to be impressed, okay? Our minds are blown. Again, this is up to 207 miles. We caught up with a racer just a bit ago before he embarked on the journey. In addition to the great sense of community and friendship that we try to foster here on STP, riders can feel good knowing that they're supporting Cascade Bicycle Club. We're the statewide bike nonprofit which advocates for more bike lanes, is educating 70,000 youth across Washington state this year in their PE classes and in how to safely bicycle. And so people who ride it know that they're supporting an organization which is helping to make Washington state more bike friendly for everybody. We ride at dawn. That's a phrase the internet has been picking up. They literally are riding at dawn. We ride at dawn, uh-huh, yeah. In fact, Taylor, they took off at 5 this morning and they've got until 7 p.m. tomorrow to complete the adventure. Wow. Is that round trip? Is that round trip or is it one way? These are great.
