And their powers are not confined to any singular state's boundaries. The governor says Texas police could force some of them to come back. We need at least 12 Democrats. We believe that there are at least 12 Democrats in the state of Texas. We have a drag net taking place as we speak right now across the entire state. But many of the Democrats are continuing their protest. They've visited states like California, New York, and Illinois, where Democratic governors are now threatening to redistrict as well. This is much bigger than Texas. This is about the entire nation. Republicans point out some of those blue states have maps that already heavily favor Democrats. That's ridiculously unfair and the only real way to fight back against it is for us to redistrict in some ways as aggressively as these hard blue states have done. Missing lawmakers are also facing mounting fines each day they avoid a vote and will no longer be paid by direct deposit, forcing them to pick up their paychecks in person.
