I Was watching it my daughter was on the couch and I was sitting in the chair Eric's ashes in front of me in his picture and some dried flowers and I Could not believe What I heard and he actually said a 21 year old intern and I started to cry And I said Eric you didn't die in vain They care about you they care about you things are gonna change so nobody else has to Relive what we lived. Hopefully that's what the goal is safety in DC And I'm so it made me feel so good inside That this didn't fall upon dead ears with this president and his administration For all the people who have been harmed by serious crime in DC I was I had the impulse to call you today, but I just wanted to do it with the audience watching I heard that you tweeted me after the segment and I want to be totally honest I missed the tweet if I had seen it. I absolutely would have I would have Shared it, but I asked your husband What type of fish stripers or blues or what are they fishing for the most and you sent us that picture and that's not a Striper, that's all the stripers right there that Eric seemed to catch I've never caught one like that and I'm from Massachusetts and I've fished around the Cape my whole life And I was so glad that your husband was able to join us last week. How is he doing tonight? My husband really is having a hard time with this. It's very very difficult. He's like a man without us He's just very depressed you can tell He he's lost. He can't he can't find a comfortable spot for himself he's just Not my dogs are barking. He's just not himself and he never will be and neither will I and we try to Be okay for our other two children because they're going through hell, too It's just really really hard Has anyone from the White House reached out to you because this morning when I knew the president was going to make that announcement I almost expected to see you standing next to him and he's done that before and of course you would have to agree, but Your case is so darn tragic and so darn sad and what your family is going through is so awful No family should no family should go through that If the White House or if someone at the White House reached out to you, would you consider Joining them.
