Dr. Michael McKee, the ex-husband of Monique Tepe, appeared in an Illinois court facing charges for the murder of Monique and her husband, Dr. Spencer Tepe, in Columbus, Ohio. McKee showed no emotion during the hearing, indicated his intent to plead not guilty, and is expected to be transferred to Ohio to face charges.

The couple was found shot to death on December 30th, with their two children unharmed in the house. Police linked McKee to the crime scene through vehicle evidence, but investigators have not yet provided a motive. Family members of the victims expressed confidence in McKee's involvement.

The man accused of killing an Ohio dentist and his wife appeared before a judge today. He's the ex-husband of Monique Tepe who was shot in her home two weeks ago along with Dr. Spencer Tepe. Lacey Crisp from our CBS Columbus affiliate WBNS reports now on the look on the suspect's face in court. In his first appearance in an Illinois court, Dr. Michael McKee showed no emotion. McKee is facing two counts of premeditated aggravated murder for the killing of his ex-wife, Monique Tepe, and her husband, Spencer Tepe in Columbus, Ohio. In court, McKee indicated his intent to plead not guilty and to return to Ohio to face the charges. The Columbus Police Department released this video last week showing a person of interest near the crime scene. Detectives say they found McKee by linking him to a vehicle near the Tepe home. The couple was found shot to death on the morning of December 30th. Their two children were in the house unharmed. So far, investigators have not provided a motive. Government records show that McKee and Monique married in 2015. Monique filed for divorce in 2017. And McKee is expected to be transferred to Ohio sometime this week. Now, family members of Monique and Spencer Tepe tell me tonight, quote, they are fully confident that Michael is the one who committed these crimes. Tony. Lacey, thank you very much.
