Three had died within 100 days of receiving the vaccine. Two of those deaths were attributed to chronic underlying health conditions. The third was an undetermined natural cause. It's a tragedy to think of it this way but you take a large enough group of people a certain number of them are going to die during your study period from all of the other things that can cause death. During the study period, 30 teens and young adults had died from COVID-19. Most were unvaccinated. The Oregon study was in response to reports of heart muscle inflammation called myocarditis after vaccination. While the inflammation did happen the vast majority of children recovered because it was relatively mild and they were fine afterwards. Experts say confronting misconceptions about vaccine safety with evidence is still important. This study adds to a wide variety of others that show that vaccination actually decreases the overall risk of cardiac problems. As for Hamlin, it was revealed that a precise hit to his chest during the game triggered a rare cardiac condition. Maybe I can inspire people to make an impact and make a change.
