Canterbury Bulldogs centre Steven Crichton will not play in the upcoming match against the Penrith Panthers due to an ongoing injury. Despite initial hopes for a rapid recovery, Crichton was unable to regain sufficient strength and will remain sidelined, as confirmed by coach Cameron Serraldo. 

With Crichton out, Viliame Kikau will captain the Bulldogs, even as he manages a potential facial injury. The match is set to attract over 70,000 spectators, with a significant majority supporting the Bulldogs, as they aim to halt the Panthers' winning streak.
