The league is reportedly spending about $5 million to bring the internationally renowned artist to Melbourne, following his recent performances at the Paris Olympics closing ceremony and the Super Bowl.

Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Brodus Jr, has previously faced legal issues and was once banned from entering Australia, though that decision was later reversed. AFL officials have stated there are no concerns about his lyrical content for the event. An Australian act will also perform as a support, with Mike Brady set to deliver his traditional AFL anthems before the match.
