The latest turmoil in the Middle East involves Iranians. Some protesting today the rising cost of living and clashing with security forces in a number of cities. Iran's Fars news agency reports six people were killed. They're the first deaths in five days of protests. Elizabeth Palmer is monitoring the developments from our London bureau. Among the casualties are both security personnel including police and protesters. Social media video shows one young man being carried away apparently dead after clashes in a western city called Gordogan. The semi-official Fars news agency close to the regime showed a police station in that same region set alight, it said, by an angry crowd. But it's hard to get a comprehensive idea of the scale of this unrest which is now fueled by anger against repression and corruption as well as the economy. One sign that the government is worried though they have not slowed down the internet, which is something they normally do when there's trouble. But this time it seems they're afraid that could send the situation spinning right out of control.
