A day of protest is now just hours away as millions of people all over the country are expected to join what organizers call “No Kings” demonstrations. FOX 5's Josh Rosenthal reports.

Security has been increased across Washington, DC as the city prepares for the 'No Kings' protests, with millions of participants anticipated at over 2,700 events nationwide. Organizers have called for nonviolent demonstrations, and significant fencing has been erected around key locations, including the White House. 

The flagship protest is expected to draw between 100,000 and 200,000 people near the Capitol. Officials, including the DC Attorney General, have issued guidelines outlining the rights and restrictions for demonstrators. The protests are being described by supporters as a defense of democracy, while critics refer to them as divisive.

And first on Fox today, a protest now just hours away. Millions of people expected to join what organizers call no Kings demonstrations. Fox five's Josh Rosenthal is live outside of the White House tonight with more on what exactly we can expect. Hi, Josh. Hey guys. Yeah, tonight flyers like this one up all over the city and wall organizers of this event have repeatedly said that the protests need to be nonviolent. Still, take a look. This fence went up this week. The White House not taking any chances. Trump must go now. Friday at the Lincoln Memorial, a preview of Saturday's no Kings protests expected all over the country. We need to defend our Constitution and fight for what the words say. According to the no Kings website, millions of people plan to protest at more than 2700 events that includes dozens of them in the DMV. It'll be similar to the no Kings protests from last June. This time, however, organizers say there are more events and even more people, for instance, just what's being called a flagship protest at third in Pennsylvania, right by the capital. Between 100 and 200,000 protesters are expected to attend. This is going to be the single largest day of protest in American history in America. We don't have a king. We don't have a dictator. We have a president and we have a democracy that must be about others, of course, see things differently. We refer to it by its more accurate description. The hate America rally and some of these people are so blinded by their hatred of President Donald Trump that they can't find one reason to celebrate America or all that we've accomplished and continue to accomplish under this new administration. D. C. Attorney General Brian Schwab published a list clearly outlining what people can and also cannot do while exercising their First Amendment rights.

The Trump administration is awaiting word from the Supreme Court after asking it to allow the immediate deployment of National Guard troops to Illinois to protect Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers. A lower court blocked the move.
