San Diego Unified School District officials have stated they did not make allegations that ICE agents were on the campus of Linda Vista Elementary School during a recent incident. The district's board president emphasized that the school's single point of entry would have made any such presence known, and that ICE would require a federal warrant to enter school property. 

The clarification comes after a parent was detained by ICE while waiting in a car near the school to pick up a child. ICE confirmed the individual was an undocumented immigrant from Mexico accused of using a fraudulent social security number. The district noted that ICE agents contacted the school to inform them the parent would not be picking up the student.

We have more insight into the immigration detainment made thursday afternoon where officials with immigration and customs enforcement are now pushing back saying allegations that the organization targeted Linda Vista Elementary School are false. A. B. C. 10 News reporter Jane Kim live in studio after speaking with the San Diego Unified School District and officials there to hear their response. Cody Pedersen, the district's board president, says the school has a single point of entry so they would know whether or not officials made it onto school grounds. All of this after a parent of a Linda Vista Elementary School student was detained by ice thursday afternoon. Families in the neighborhood near the school say the man was sitting in this red car waiting to pick up his kid from the school. In the video you see three ice agents approaching him. A witness shared this video with ABC 10 News. It shows two agents reaching in through the driver's side window and grabbing the man's wrists before removing him from the car. We certainly never made any allegations. They were on campus. We would know if they were on campus. We have a single point of entry. Uh they would have needed a federal judicial warrant to enter our campus. So we are quite aware that they weren't on campus or on our property. Um what we said is that it was that the father was clearly there for pickup for a student. Uh those who apprehended him clearly knew that because they did in fact contact our school to let us know that that parent would not be picking up their child. So they were quite aware that they had picked up a parent who was present for for pickup. Now the statement ABC 10 News received from ice were told the man they arrested was an undocumented immigrant from Mexico. They say he was fraudulently using an american social security number in studio. Jane Kim, ABC 10 News.
