This marks the second fee increase in two years as part of a plan initiated in February 2025. The county states that the adjustments are necessary to keep up with rising costs while maintaining quality services. Discount programs and scholarships will be available for veterans and seniors, and a free first-time camping program will be offered to new campers.

You're going to see an increase in your camping, fishing, and boat rentals at San Diego County parks and facilities. That'll start January 2nd of next year. By how much? A full hookup campsite will increase from $40 to $42 a night. If you're planning on booking a picnic facility, fees will increase by $25. The county says it's keeping up with rising costs while providing high-quality parks, trails, and recreation opportunities at a good value. This is the second raise in two years, part of a plan that began in February 2025. But if you're a veteran or senior, don't worry. There will be discount programs along with program scholarships.
