Because I saw people feel like, well, wait a second, you went to some sort of dark side. I think you went to the safety side first. I went to the safety side, but you know, in today's world, everything is so divisive that you can say anything, and all of a sudden, it's a firestorm, and it was. CEO of Salesforce, Mark Benioff, last Tuesday on Mad Money with our Jim Cramer, backing the president's call to send the National Guard to San Francisco, as he has in other Democratic cities like Washington, D.C. and Chicago. Now Benioff walking back the call for federal troops and apologizing for the comments he posted on social media saying, having listened, having listened closely to my fellow San Franciscans and our local officials, and after the largest and safest dream force in our history, I do not believe the National Guard is needed to address safety in San Francisco. My earlier comment came from an abundance of caution around the event, and I sincerely apologize for the concern that it caused. Clearly there was a backlash and an uproar that I don't think at all he was, he was trying to stoke. To me, I don't think he needed to apologize. I think that his message was very consistent with Mark's message for the last decade plus on San Francisco, which is he's been an advocate for public safety, and he's put his money where his mouth is, and that's what he was really trying to say when he said send the National Guard. Really, because the Laurene Powell Jobs op-ed in the Journal took him to task for criticizing a city in which she argues he no longer lives in, instead he's living in Hawaii and giving interviews to the Times on his private plane. That was sort of the color around the comments. Well, right. So people have gone completely political on him. He's still the biggest private sector jobs employer in San Francisco, and one of the biggest philanthropists in San Francisco, has done a lot for that city, even if he's not permanently residing there anymore. So I think, tough to criticize, but I think it shows what happens when Democrats can't tolerate one of their own praising Trump. They just can't. You know, he's been a fundraiser for Democrats, right, Hillary Clinton, he gave to Obama and to Kamala Harris, and I think that it just, they can't handle it when he says something like President Trump is doing the right thing and send the National Guard. Well, I think, Laurene's point was that you want to be aware of philanthropists who want control in exchange for their giving. So it wasn't an ideological shift, it was that he's shopping around trying to determine what the mood of the country is. That was her criticism. I don't know. I heard Benioff talking to Jim right there, and he was saying, I just wanted to have a safe Dreamforce, and I just want to have a safe city. And that's all it was about, and that's why he backtracked, because he didn't mean to make it a big political, or at least he wasn't trying to. We'll see. His post was interesting.
