The South and Southeast regions of the United States are experiencing unusually high temperatures, with several cities reporting conditions far above seasonal averages. Notably, Dallas is 21 degrees above average and Abilene, Texas, is expected to break a temperature record set in 1938 by four degrees.

Other cities such as Atlanta and Nashville are also seeing temperatures 11 and 15 degrees above average, respectively. The record-breaking warmth is expected to persist through the week, with more records potentially being broken until a new weather system moves into the area.

We've got some heat building and it's been that way pretty much throughout the weekend actually making it pretty far to the north to you. See places like even North Platte or about 7 degrees above average. We have Dallas 21 degrees above average. Yeah, it is not feeling at all like mid to late November. So warm that these are some of the records that are in jeopardy today. Whether you're going to tie them or like in the case of Abilene, Texas break it by 4 degrees. That was a record set back in 1938, so we got a longstanding record here that will topple. It will get crushed today. Tomorrow we have the same deal where we have many areas like Dallas. You could be breaking that record by a good couple of degrees that was set back in 1973 as we approach once again another day close to 90. Degrees we also have Atlanta 11 degrees above average. Nashville 15 degrees above average. That is a complete flip flop from what we were seeing about the exact time last week when we had that deep chill that was across a lot of the southeast Wednesday we have even more records that are in jeopardy. Basically until we bring this next system in.
