MIT put out some new research about how AI can impact our brain activity and memory. So I asked Rosalind Kaiser would see you boulder about this. She said the key question to ask is when writing an essay or when you're working on homework, is it impacting your ability to problem solve? Or are you losing out on that skill? She also said this isn't actually a new problem going back to when computers were first introduced. No human can write as quickly as someone can speak, so you have to put it in your own words. You have to synthesize that information, whereas when you're typing we can easily, especially if your practice, you can type just as quickly as someone is speaking. But what that means is you're not doing that additional step of putting the content into your own words, maybe putting connections together. It's also about balancing academic stress ways that it could help. Time management and the fact that this technology is here and it is weaved into our lives.
