Parts of Germantown completely underwater people evacuating from their homes. Those who are still cleaning up from Sunday's flooding hit again this morning after another storm rolled through the area. TMJ four is Washington County reporter Marcus are sold live on County line road where most of the water is getting pumped out. Marcus, a question a lot of people's minds. Why are they pumping the water onto the street? Looks like they're trying to intentionally flood the place. So the village I spoke with them today, you see the water getting pumped there from a fire truck. They're pumping it on the county line because this is the best way they can keep it from getting into the city and within the village. They say if they don't pump it away from the sewage, their sewage could potentially back up into people's homes. So they are protecting their sewage coverage and getting the water out and away from getting back up into the community. Community members I spoke with says they appreciate the work that is being done and that everyone's doing the best that they can. Mhm. When I saw boats out here this morning, I thought, oh, after unprecedented rainfall, Germantown residents like Joan Winkler are still dealing with the aftermath of severe flooding. I knew we had water but did not realize how bad it was or how high it got up. She and her husband don't want to evacuate but says they will if the water rises anymore. It's going to take a long time for this to go down. I'm a loss for words. It's just incredible. Down the street from Winkler, Kirk Crocker is setting up a generator to try and help his mother during this time. But I mean, this is just progressing and more and more. Both say reaching out is the best way to help each other. Just check your neighbors, make sure they're safe and if they need any help, um, whether cleaning up this or that just ran through the store and getting food and stuff. That'd be a big thing for some people just to watch out for your neighbor, make sure that they're doing okay because you never know what somebody inside their house is going through. They might be having some problems. Despite how it looks now, the fire chief did say at a press conference at two this afternoon that around 11 a.m. Is when the river crested. So they're hoping to see it start going down soon. No word yet though on when people can return home and when it will return to normal.
