Reflecting on the release of his single, Duplantis admitted to feeling nervous and described the difference between being judged in sports versus music. He stated that the reaction to "Bop" was generally positive and indicated that he has additional material planned for future release. Duplantis expressed his enthusiasm for music, saying it is an important part of his life and that he intends to continue creating and sharing songs.

I think a lot of people were really surprised by you releasing your first single. I mean, how did it come about? How did the music thing come about? I've been doing it for some time now, actually. I have a lot of buddies that are into music. I was in choir when I was younger, but that was a really long time ago. And so I always like kind of like halfway enjoyed to sing. Classical or musical theatre or what kind of choir? Classical. Yeah, but it was also like middle school and whatnot. So it wasn't like super serious, I guess, but kind of, I guess. And so then I just maybe two years ago or so, two, three years ago, I found myself in a studio. Sweden is very cold in the winters and whatnot. So your golf time is a bit limited over in Sweden. So naturally, that was kind of what I found to do. So have you trained for your music career as you have as an athlete? In some ways, in some ways. I definitely get obsessive and in kind of a very similar way. If yes, there's I probably spend a little bit too much time thinking about it or in the studio and whatnot, then that's that's fine for sure. But and I like things that take a long time, too. I guess those feel like the most rewarding. And they require you to be patient in a way because poverty is very long. Golf's very long. Creating music, it takes a very long time and it's a big process, especially finishing songs, too. It's so easy to like knock out demos and just kind of make some melodies and write some stuff down and whatnot. But actually like finishing the tiny little details towards the end, it's it's a very tough and long process, honestly. But I think that's what makes it so rewarding. So how are the nerves the night before the release of your single compared to the night before the Olympic final? Quite nervous, actually, because I knew for a lot of people it was going to be pretty random. I mean, the people that like really know me, of course, they know that I've been like in the in the studio and stuff, like making a lot of songs and like I have a lot of stuff. But it's it's like a weird way to be judged, I guess, that I'm definitely wouldn't be used to. Sports is just so statistical and it's just like either good or bad. Like, did you care about the reaction? Did you want people to like it? Yeah, I guess naturally. I think I would be lying if I said I just didn't care at all, like if everybody just thought it was like not good at all. And everybody's like, this is trash. Like, get out here. What are you doing? But I think for the most part, the reaction was was quite OK. And yeah, I guess I guess I kind of did a little bit. I didn't I was trying not to look as much as I could, but I still had to like kind of gauge, like get a radar of like what is going on and whatnot. And like what to make as far as like the next move and stuff. But do you sing your own song to yourself in the shower? I guess I guess maybe I don't know if I'm singing to myself or maybe just working on it a little bit. I don't think I'm like performing for myself, but I guess it probably could happen. Yeah, it sounds like you said you've got a lot of stuff. You got a lot of material. It sounds like this is not just a one hit wonder. There is more to come. Yeah, I have a lot. I have a lot more. And so I haven't figured out exactly how I'm going to do it as far as like the whole schedule and structure of the releases and whatnot. I think it's just going to be a little bit sporadic. And when I want to and whenever I feel like I have a song that I really just like and I think is a nice vibe. And so I'll just do it. But it's something that I really enjoy. I really love. And I think that it's good for me just like as a person, as an athlete and everything. I think I just I think it's good and good in every way. So there will be more. I'm going to release a lot more stuff. And, you know, whatever happens, happens. I have no idea.
