Juneau, Alaska has seen substantial snowfall in recent weeks, with snow piled high along highways and throughout the city, particularly in higher elevation areas. The heavy, rain-soaked snow has caused roofs of several homes and buildings to collapse under the weight, creating hazardous conditions for residents.

Forecasts predict that up to 30 additional inches of snow could fall in the coming days, prolonging the risk of further damage. While there is currently a brief respite from the snowfall, the situation remains critical as the threat of more accumulation continues.

If this isn't a testimony to just how much snow Juneau, Alaska has gotten over the last couple of weeks, I don't know what is. This is along the highway right here. These are how high the snow has been piled up along the interstate here. And this is a camper attached to a very buried truck. And it is, this isn't even a one-off thing. This is the same scene all across different areas of the city, especially in the little bit higher elevation areas. And I'm six foot tall and the snow is nearly all the way to the top of the camper here as several other homes and buildings have had their roofs cave in due to the amount of weight from the snow and the mix of rain, almost turning it into a cement type of snowpack. And it's just adding so much pressure to these buildings. They cannot withstand it. And the thing is there could be another 30 inches of snow to come this week. So they were getting a little bit of a break right now, but they're certainly not out of the woods yet.
