Research by YouGov indicates that 1.7 million women know more about football than menopause, highlighting a significant information gap. The summit follows a Senate inquiry that recommended a national awareness campaign and increased education for medical professionals. In response, $1.5 million has been allocated for optional professional development, and Priceline pharmacists have launched a menopause support program to assist women seeking advice. The summit aims to continue expanding its reach and fostering open discussions about women's health.

This is about education, evidence based information and supporting each other like a sisterhood. It comes after last year's Senate inquiry into the issue which called for a national awareness campaign and greater education in medical schools. There are a lot of GPs out there who went through entire medical school without even a single hour of education when it comes to perimenopause and menopause and you know what? That's not okay. Another $1.5 million over three years is going towards further professional development for medical practitioners but the learning is optional. Priceline pharmacists are now addressing the critical knowledge gap launching a new menopause support program. At least one Priceline pharmacist or pharmacy assistant is trained to deliver menopause support at each location to help the 50% of Australian women who say they don't know who or where to turn to for advice. Women can learn more at their online portal or at the summit which takes its message to Perth in two weeks time. We just want to continue broadening the conversation, you know, we're already thinking about how we can elevate this next year to a much wider audience.
