Steve Smith told us earlier today that if Cummins is in, he'll gladly hand back the captaincy duties. He's not a bad bowler is he? He looks pretty good to me, the way he's bowled in the nets. The game's a different intensity for sure, he's close, he's done everything really well the last little bit and we'll see whether he's an option or not. Smith said a call on Usman Khawaja's test future will be made down the line. Travis Head will open the batting again instead, with West Aussie Josh Inglis coming in to play his fourth test and first against the country of his birth. He's obviously a pretty attacking batsman, he did really well on his debut in Sri Lanka, he's been in really good form, so if he gets an opportunity, I'm sure he'll do really well for us. Smith's trying something new too, wearing eye patches to help with glare, but it turns out he's been doing it wrong. I actually messaged Shivnarayan Chandipur and asked him what his thoughts were, whether he wore the chalk or the strips, and he thinks it blocks out 65% of the glare, and he also said I've seen photos and you're wearing them the wrong way. England haven't beaten Australia in a test match at the Gabba since 1986. All the action gets underway in the day-nighter tomorrow.
