The report highlights personal stories, including that of Salim, who died after allegedly being beaten by soldiers, and others who have been shot or wounded during such attempts. The ongoing conflict and occupation have left the local economy struggling, forcing many to make perilous journeys in hopes of supporting their families.

Hiba Alfar says her husband Salim always stayed in touch with her. He'd often leave her voice messages, telling her where he was, when he'd come home or when he passed an Israeli checkpoint. But on October 15, there was no such messages from Salim. Earlier that day, he had left the occupied West Bank to work at a construction site in Israel. When Hiba called his mobile phone, someone else answered. He said soldiers beat Salim, that he was dead. I said, what? Are you sure? He said, yes. They beat him heavily on his abdomen. He got up and walked, didn't show pain, then collapsed and died. Salim was 57 years old. He had debts to pay, a family of seven to support. But he couldn't find a job in the occupied West Bank and had no permit to work inside Israel. Since the war in Gaza began, Israel has blocked their access. In the past few months, images like these have become widespread. More Palestinians are forced to make the tough decision, smuggle themselves into Israel, even if it means climbing the meters-high Israeli separation wall, or stay and suffer. My nephews are trying to work in Israel. What can I say? I couldn't tell them don't go. Everyone going has no other choice. Some make it inside Israel, but the rest could be arrested, assaulted or killed. Israeli forces shot this 27-year-old on Sunday as he was climbing the Israeli separation wall. Our bread is soaked in blood. People say we're walking to our deaths. But if we had alternatives, would we climb that wall? The danger is not just during the entry. It continues after with the Israeli police raiding houses and work sites looking for us. Since he was wounded this week, six other Palestinian workers have been brought to the hospital he's in. All wounded, all fearing Israeli retaliation, some may be forced to risk going into Israel again. Israel's occupation has long left Palestinians with a struggling economy and a market unable to create jobs.
