Tisch argues that this limitation leaves the city vulnerable, especially as drone activity increases during major events.

So far this year, the NYPD has tracked more than 75,000 drone flights in New York City, a figure expected to grow with the onset of summer. Tisch maintains that waiting for federal intervention is insufficient and that local law enforcement needs the ability to respond immediately to potential threats from drones.
