In a separate event, a large pane of glass fell from the 43rd floor of a Midtown high-rise but caused no injuries. Inspectors determined the glass had been damaged during recent construction, resulting in violations and a stop work order for the contractor. The city is awaiting further reports on the safety of other glass panels at the site.

This was Saturday night. Police say two men got into some kind of argument with those victims. Officers say a 39-year-old man was slashed in the hand and a 37-year-old hurt his arm after being pushed. He was pushed onto the tracks. Both of them were hospitalized in stable condition. And a four-by-six-foot pane of glass came crashing down from a Midtown high-rise. The FDNY says the glass fell from the 43rd floor of 1345 6th Avenue and onto the ground. This was Sunday morning. No one was hurt. Luckily, building inspectors say the panel had been damaged during construction on Friday. The violations have been issued to JRM Contracting and a stop work order has been issued. Just so you know, the city is awaiting a report about the condition of the other glass panels at that site.

The Trump administration is awaiting word from the Supreme Court after asking it to allow the immediate deployment of National Guard troops to Illinois to protect Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers. A lower court blocked the move.
