Nvidia announced the launch of its Vera Rubin AI computing platform at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, with CEO Jensen Wang stating that it offers up to five times the AI computing power of previous models. The company also unveiled new autonomous vehicle software, aiming to collaborate with robo-taxi operators and integrate its technology into Mercedes-Benz cars later in the year.

Additionally, Nvidia reported strong demand for its older H200 chips in China and confirmed it has applied for licenses to export these chips following recent policy changes. CEO Jensen Wang's interview regarding these developments is scheduled to air on Squawk Box.

Welcome back to Squawk Box. NVIDIA's next generation of AI chips is in full production. CEO Jensen Wang speaking to attendees at the CES show, the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last night, introducing Vera Rubin, the company's new AI computing platform. Now, he said that the platform will serve up to five times the AI computing power of its current capability. He also said the customers are on track to deploy the new products in the second half of the year. NVIDIA also unveiling new autonomous vehicle software, one part of its push into what's being called physical AI. The company said it's working with robo-taxi operators in hopes of having them use its software and hardware to power fleets of self-driving cars soon as next year. Now, Mercedes-Benz cars coming later this year are expected to use NVIDIA's technology to help with navigation. Separately, the company's CEO telling analysts that Chinese demand for the company's older H200 chips is strong and NVIDIA's CFO saying that the company has applied now for licenses to ship the chips to China following President Trump's recent decision to allow the exports.
