The club released a brief statement confirming his departure, with no public expressions of gratitude or well-wishes. 

Postecoglou, who had previously ended a trophy drought at Tottenham Hotspur before being dismissed there as well, now faces an uncertain future in English football. Despite his recent setbacks, he remains one of Australia's most successful football coaches.

The official statement was just 39 words. Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that after a series of disappointing results, Ange Postacoglu has been relieved of his duties as the head coach. There were no thank-yous, no well-wishes. He probably didn't even get to say goodbye to the players, unfortunately, for Ange. It's a ruthless business at the top. In June, he was sacked from Tottenham Hotspur despite winning some big silverware. He ended a decade-long trophy drought at Tottenham Hotspur with that Europa League triumph. So there has been success, a lot of success along the way. He's, without a doubt, Australia's most successful ever coach as well. His next step will require tricky footwork. In England, when your reputation gets tarnished like this, it can be a long road back. Perhaps that means going to another league in Europe.
