While the possibility of a future franchise remains, Silver emphasized that the process is complex and the league is conducting a thorough analysis on how to best grow its brand globally.

Las Vegas continues to play a significant role in NBA activities, hosting the Summer League with record media attendance and substantial economic benefits for the city. Silver remarked that the city already feels like home to the NBA, but no official decision on expansion has been made.

The League Office is currently working on an in-depth analysis that will explain how they can best build their brand of basketball on a global scale. But for right now, Silver already feels like Las Vegas is home to the NBA. We have a total of 550 credentialed media for the Summer League, which is an all time record. We account for 130,000 room nights. While we're here in Vegas, we will have 76 national telecasts coming out of the Summer League. Combination of both the ESPN networks and NBA TV and the Las Vegas Conventions and Visitors Bureau. Projects will account for roughly $280 million of economic impact on Las Vegas. I've been saying this for years. I feel like we already have the 31st franchise here.
